We take an early morning ride from Kathmandu valley for about an hour to a beautiful Newari village named Pharping which lies above the Bagmati river on the southern edge of the Kathmandu valley, about 23 km from the capital. Before commencing our hike, we stop by the famous Dakshinkali temple and offer our prayers to goddess Kali and explore the surrounding area. After spending some time in this pristine temple and learning about its religious importance, we return back to our hiking point, Pharping, from where we hit the trails full of pine forest, green terrace fields, varieties of flora and fauna, small village settlements and Buddhist monasteries along the way. We walk for some hours while hearing the birds chirp in a peaceful environment before arriving at our destination, Champadevi hill which is also a pilgrimage site itself as it has Buddhist Stupa and Hindu Shrine on the top. We spend our precious time relaxing and enjoying the majestic views of Kathmandu valley and the distant Himalayas like Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishanker, Jugal Himal, Dorge Lakpa while we are on the top. After admiring the views and creating enough memories, we then bid farewell to the panoramic views and descend down through a different trail which eventually leads us to the roadways. You can also visit Taudaha lake, a beautiful freshwater lake on the outskirts of Kathmandu valley if time favors you while returning. We then catch our private vehicle waiting for us to ride back to Kathmandu and after reaching the valley, we drop you at your hotel where you can rest and relax after a long day. This short hike nearby the valley is a perfect opportunity for you to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in natural beauty full of lush green hills, panoramic view of shiny mountains and ancient civilization.
