First, you get to tour Namobuddha which is 40 km away from Kathmandu valley & lies between Banepa & Panauti at an elevation of 1750m offering amazing views of Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Dorje Lakpa along with several shrines, gumbas, and monuments. Next comes Dhulikhel, a town located 30 km southeast of Kathmandu valley that lies on the top of a hill at an elevation of 1550m offering some really good views of mountains, hills & landscapes. You can also visit some popular attractions of Dhulikhel like; Kailashnath Mahadev, Indreshwar temple. You’ll be picked up in the morning in a private vehicle from your hotel and then we’ll begin our ride to Namobuddha from Kathmandu that takes around 2 hours. On our way to Namobuddha, we can witness the countryside villages, hills & small streams. After reaching the top of Namobuddha hill, we’ll visit Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery which is a famous Buddhist monastery. We can get the majestic views of several mountain ranges like; Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar & Manaslu, etc from the top. We also get to see Buddhist nuns meditating around the area in a peaceful environment with fluttering colorful flags. After exploring the Monasteries & stupas in Namobuddha, we’ll head to Dhulikhel that takes around a 30-40 min ride. In Dhulikhel, we’ll visit some famous Hindu temples like; Kailashnath Mahadev temple & the Indreshwar temple. We can witness the local Newari lifestyle and culture during our visit to Dhulikhel. We’ll get to see panoramic views of several mountain ranges once again from Dhulikhel. After exploring and spending some time in Dhulikhel, we’ll drive back to Kathmandu. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel after our arrival in Kathmandu.
Optional: Instead of driving, we can also hike to Dhulikhel from Namobuddha if you want. It is also possible to extend the trip to 2-3 days where we’ll be spending the night in Dhulikhel.
