A pristine route in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas, Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively easy, yet extremely rewarding trail with stunning views of the gigantic Annapurna range. The trek trail which was only walked by shepherds before 2012 is now a popular and growing interest among both locals and foreigners. Mardi Himal Trek offers you the view of diverse landscapes ranging from lush rhododendrons to alpine terrains to white snow-capped mountains all within a few days of trekking. After leaving the dense forest behind, this off-beaten and relatively quiet trail will lead you to the views of Annapurna (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Himchuli (6441m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna South (7219m), and Machhapuchhre Fishtail (6993m). After reaching the final destination, Mardi Base Camp (4500m) you will march down through the beautiful traditional Siding village where you can experience the way of life, culture and tradition of ethnic people living there.

We start our 9 days trek to Mardi Himal early morning after our breakfast by driving towards the city of lakes and mountains, Pokhara. It is a comfortable and pleasing 6-7 hour drive along with the fascinating views of countryside including stunning panoramic views of Himalayan ranges, paddy fields, green terraces and rivers following us. After arriving at Pokhara, we have a free evening ahead of us. Spend your time exploring Pokhara and relaxing for a trek ahead. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Optional: You can choose to take a 30 min flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead of a drive.
After an early morning breakfast at our hotel in Pokhara, we start our journey towards Mardi. We take a short drive to Phedi from Pokhara and start our trekking adventures by reaching Deurali as our first night stop. Trek to Deurali is beautiful and peaceful as our trail leads us to picturesque typical Nepali villages, stone steps, terraced fields, forests while looking at amazing views of Annapurna, Macchpuchhre and Mardi Himal. Overnight stay at a lodge in Deurali.
After a delicious breakfast at Deurali, we march towards Forest Camp, our stay for a third night. Trek to forest camp is a walk through the beautiful and slient forest of rhododendron, oak, maple, hemlock and daphnia. After walking comfortably for nearly 6 hours, we reach our destination where we spend our evening by resting and admiring the mesmerizing views of Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal and Annapurna. Overnight stay at a lodge in Forest Camp.
We continue our trek to Low Camp on the fourth day after breakfast at Forest Camp. We walk through the rhododendron forest and green hills while admiring Nepal’s rich biodiversity. Today we get a much clearer and closer view of Machhapuchhre and Mardi Himal along with some spectacular picturesque surrounding views. We reach Low Camp and rest. You are free to observe the environment and enjoy your evening. Overnight stay at a lodge in Low Camp.
Today we trek upto High Camp from Low Camp which is nearly 4 hours of slightly steep walk. The tree lines and green vegetation slowly leave us as we ascend up to 3000 metres and we are welcomed by shrubby alpine vegetation. We ascend slowly upwards looking at the views of Hiunchuli, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre in the distance above. High Camp is a small grassland and last settlement where we stay for a night. Today is the most memorable and important day in our entire trekking as we head up to Mardi Base Camp to view the spectacular sunrise and Himalayan ranges. We wake up early, grab some breakfast and make our way slightly and slowly to the base camp which is at 4500m. The panorama from up there is absolutely mesmerizing and breathtaking which leaves up in awe. We see the wonderful sites of Machhapuchhre, Mardi, Annapurna, Hiunchuli and Gangapurna from Base Camp. We enjoy and indulge in this exotic environment for some time and head back to High Camp slowly and carefully. You are free to explore the surrounding environment as we are spending another night comfortably at High Camp. Overnight stay at a lodge in High Camp.
We leave high camp and make our way back through the beautiful Siding village after enjoying a lustrous sunrise and delicious breakfast in the early morning. Descending down from Siding is an alternative way to reach Pokhara. This way makes us more familiar with the Brahmin and Gurung ethnic culture and lifestyle. It's a beautiful and breathtaking path decorated with splendid views of mountains, hills, rhododendrons and traditional houses. Overnight stay at a homestay in Siding village.
Today after our breakfast at Pokhara hotel, we head back to the capital city, Kathmandu. It is a 7-8 hours drive depending upon the traffic conditions. Take a look outside your window and enjoy the view of colorful villages, scenic landscapes, local bazaars and people before arriving at the valley. Enjoy your evening in Kathmandu by strolling and visiting the nearby areas as your wish and make memories and relax. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
