A short trek to the thrilling wild Himalayas of Nepal offering spectacular views with diverse ecosystems, the Langtang valley, also known as the “valley of glaciers” is situated in the Rasuwa district of Nepal. Initially starting from Syabrubesi, this trek takes you to a remarkably stunning region including the high-altitude peaks of the Langtang Himal range. Moving from the lowlands to the rocky heights of the Langtang Valley with the Himalayan wilderness, you also enter Langtang National park where you might spot wildlife like the musk deer, monkeys moving in the dense forests. Passing through several local settlements, Moving through rhododendron forest, suspension bridges, white waterfalls, and rivers, praying walls, and open fields, you reach the highest settlement point of the trek, a small valley of Tamang & Sherpa people, Kyanjin Gompa (3870m). The highest viewpoint of the trek is Kyanjin Ri (4773m) and Tsergo Ri (5000m) from where you get a 360-degree view of Himalayan giants like Langtang Lirung (7227m), Langtang Ri (7205m), Naya Khang (5844m), Yala Peak (5520m), etc. Apart from natural beauty, this trek leaves an impression on visitors due to Tibetan Buddhism’s influence on locals, monasteries, stupas, and fluttering prayer flags with a message of peace.

Today we'll drive to Syabrubesi which is the starting point of our trek. We drive through the town Trisuli before moving towards Dunche, After Dunche it is another hour downhill drive to Syabrubesi where we'll be staying for the night. On the way, we can get pleasant views of the Trishuli River and surrounding landscape along with local villages and hills. It is approximately a 6 to 7 hours drive from Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Syabrubesi.
After having our breakfast in Syabrubesi, we’ll begin our trek to Lama Hotel. Walking on the trail along the Langtang Khola, we ascend and descend through oak and rhododendron forests. Soon after a little uphill climb, we'll reach a place called Bamboo. Moving forward, crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola & passing through several small rivers & waterfalls, we ascend on a steep trail leading us to the Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
Today we continue our trek as we move toward Mundu. The trail today takes us through rhododendron and pine forests, waterfalls, and very scenic paths. Ascending from Lama Hotel, today's first stop is Ghoda Tabela from where we begin to see the mountains of the Langtang range. Continuing our climb we’ll pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village which was affected by the April 2015 earthquake. After Langtang valley, we’ll finally reach Mundu. After breakfast, today we'll start our journey to Kyangjin Gompa which is an important monastery of the region. It is relatively a short walk today as we pass by prayer wheels, mani walls, open fields alongside the river. After the short trek, we reach Kyangjin Gompa surrounded by mountains all around. After having our Lunch, we can explore the Gompa and surrounding areas. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa. Optional: We can also hike up to Kyanjin Ri (4773m) which will help us acclimatize for the next day's climb to Tsergo Ri.
Today can be considered as the highlight of the trek as we spend the whole day exploring Tsergo Ri. We’ll begin our trek early in the morning today. We pass through yak fields before ascending to Tserko Ri from where we can get majestic views of Yala Peak (5,520m), Langtang Ri (7,205m), Langtang Lirung (7,227m), and Naya Khang (5,844m), etc. After enjoying our packed lunch while relishing the majestic mountains right in front of our eyes, we’ll descend back to Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
From Kyanjin Gompa, following the same route today we’ll descend to Lama Hotel. Alongside the Langtang Khola followed by Mundu village, Ghoda Tabela & Langtang valley respectively, the descent surely will be faster than the ascent. Continuing the steep descent, we soon reach Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
Today is the final day of our trek as we retrace our steps to Syabrubesi while enjoying the quiet forested trails. We can walk at our own pace while enjoying the peaceful trails inside lush green forests while descending to Syabrubesi. Overnight stay at Syabrubesi.
After having our breakfast early in the morning, today we’ll bid farewell to the Langtang region and drive back to Kathmandu. We'll reach Kathmandu after a 7-8 hrs of drive & you can spend the rest of the day in Kathmandu while catching up on some last-minute souvenir shopping. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
