Birthplace of Janaki (goddess Sita), Janakpur is one of the religious pilgrimage sites for Hindu devotees. Named after king Janak & headquarter of the Dhanusa district, Janakpur is located 380 km far from Kathmandu. This tour takes you to one of the main attractions of Janakpur; Janaki temple, also known as Ram Janaki Temple which was built in 1911 AD dedicated to goddess Sita by Indian Queen Maharani Brishabhanu Kunwari Devi. Legend says a golden statue of Goddess Sita was found in the area & later the temple was built in the same place. Every year a huge festival takes place in Janakpur during Bibaha Panchami to celebrate the marriage anniversary of Lord Ram & goddess Sita in presence of thousands of devotees from Nepal & India. The marriage ceremony area of lord Ram & goddess Sita is still preserved in the nearby main temple named Ram Janaki Bibaha mandap. Dhanusa Dham, located 25 km away from Janaki temple is another important site in Janakpur along with Ram mandir, Laxman Mandir, Ganga Sagar lake, Dhanusa Sagar & Ram Janaki Bibaha mandap, etc. Witness the unique Mithila art & architecture along with experiencing the culture & lifestyle of the Terai region while visiting this historic Mithila city.

After having breakfast early in the morning, we’ll start our Janakpur Dham tour. We’ll first visit Janaki Temple, also known as Ram Janaki temple dedicated to goddess Sita. There are many other attractions like; the marriage ceremony area of lord Ram & the goddess Sita which is still preserved in the nearby main temple named Ram Janaki Bibaha mandap. After visiting all the nearby sites of Janaki temple, we’ll visit Dhanusa Dham, located 25 km away from Janaki temple which is another important site in Janakpur. We’ll return back to the hotel after visiting Ram mandir, Laxman Mandir, Ganga Sagar lake, Dhanusa Sagar & Ram Janaki Bibaha mandap, etc. Overnight stay at Janakpur.
Today we’ll drive to Chitwan from Janakpur after having breakfast in the morning. It takes around 3-4 hours to drive to Chitwan from Janakpur. We’ll pass through several rivers, forests & small settlements on our way during the drive. Upon arriving in Chitwan, we’ll check in at the hotel & rest for a few hours. After taking a rest for a while, we’ll go for a village tour around the city where we can learn about the culture & lifestyle of the indigenous people of this town. Overnight stay at Chitwan.
Today we’ll be exploring the first & largest national park of Nepal, Chitwan National Park. After having our breakfast we’ll go for a jeep jungle safari during which we can witness wildlife like one-horned rhinos, tigers, deers along with varieties of birds & reptiles. After that, we will take a short jungle walk and visit the Elephant breeding center. We can also try Canoeing in the Rapti river as it is another activity available here. Furthermore, we can get an exquisite sunrise & sunset view from the bank of the Narayani river. After exploring the National park, later in the evening, we’ll visit nearby Tharu village where we’ll get to see the rich culture, tradition, and daily lifestyle of indigenous Tharu people. There will be a cultural show showcasing several dances & costumes of the Tharu community organized for us. After enjoying the show, we’ll get back to our hotel & spend the night there.
After having our breakfast, today we’ll drive to Kathmandu from Chitwan. It’ll take us around 5-6 hours to reach Kathmandu. The drive will take us through several hills, forests & rivers on the way. After reaching Kathmandu, we’ll check in at the hotel & relax for a few hours. Later in the evening, we can go for a short walk around the popular tourist hub of the valley, Thamel. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
Today we’ll drive to UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu, Starting with Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu Pilgrimage that lies 5km east of Kathmandu. Here, we’ll tour around the temple as we give our prayers to Lord Shiva to whom the temple is dedicated. After Pashupatinath temple, we’ll drive to Boudhanath stupa, the largest stupa of Nepal that lies 11km east of Kathmandu. We can witness the Tibetan-influenced Buddhist culture around the area as this is a sacred place for Buddhists around the world. Our next destination is Swayambhunath stupa which is another sacred Buddhist pilgrimage. Located at the top of the hill around 4 km east of Kathmandu, this place has a very peaceful and serene environment with a spectacular view of the Kathmandu valley. After Swayambhunath stupa, we’ll head to our last destination of the day, Kathmandu Durbar Square that lies at the heart of the city. Full of ancient cultural heritage & architecture, we’ll have a lot to explore & learn about Nepali history here. After exploring all four UNESCO World heritage sites, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
After having our breakfast early in the morning today we’ll drive to Doleshwor Mahadev temple situated in the southeast of Bhaktapur which is believed to be the head part of Kedarnath located in Uttarakhand, India. We can notice a great resemblance between the two temples as we can witness the huge plain Shiva linga, taps, big idol of bull & Trishul around the temple along with the prayers rules & rituals being similar. We’ll offer our prayers, tour around the temple & then drive to Bhaktapur, an ancient Newari temple. We can learn about the history of Malla kings & the making of traditional Newari arts & handicrafts while touring around this city. We’ll visit the Pagoda and Shikara style temples, Vihars, Traditional Buddhist monasteries, stone water spouts, ponds, stupas, city gates, palaces, and other cultural and historical heritages which are major attractions of this city along with Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll drive back to Kathmandu after exploring Bhaktapur & spend the night there. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
This is an optional day of the tour where you’ll be visiting either Nagarkot, a famous hilltop village located 32 km away from Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2175m, or Dhulikhel, a popular weekend getaway destination located 30 km southeast of Kathmandu. Both destinations are a viewpoint for getting a majestic sunset & sunrise view with a wide range of the Himalayas along with lush green hills & well-known places to experience & learn the lifestyle of the countryside town of Nepal. If you decide to extend your trip with this optional day, we’ll spend the night at either of the two destinations.
