An ideal short trek for first-timers, the Ghorepani Ghandruk is a moderate trek in the Annapurna region offering magnificent views of mountains along with the fascinating cultures of local communities. Starting from Pokhara, this trek takes you through dense green forests, paddy fields, rhododendron forests & small settlements before reaching Ghorepani. And there comes the highlight of the trek, the magical sunrise from Poonhill (3210m) over snow-covered mountains like; Mt. Annapurnas, Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) & Mt. Khangsar Kang (7485m), etc. A view that’ll leave you in awe, the sunrise & mountain view from Poon hill, often regarded as one of the best viewpoints of Nepal is a place not to be missed. Getting down, you’ll tour around the Gurung village named Ghandruk offering cozy homestays where you can enjoy the lifestyle & culture of locals here. Enjoy the stunning view of mount Annapurnas & Fishtail dominating the skyline during the entire route until you finally reach the viewpoint which truly represents heaven on earth.

We start our trek to Ghorepani Ghandruk after our breakfast at the hotel. We drive towards the city of lakes and mountains, Pokhara which is a comfortable and pleasing 6-7 hour drive. Throughout the drive, we get fascinating views of the countryside including stunning panoramic views of Himalayan ranges, paddy fields, green terraces and rivers following us. After arriving at Pokhara, we have a free evening ahead of us. Spend your time exploring Pokhara and relaxing. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Optional: You can choose to take a 30 min flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu instead of a drive.
Our second day starts with a delicious breakfast at Pokhara hotel followed by a drive to Nayapul from where our real trekking adventure begins. We walk through the rhododendron forest, rice fields, rivers and ascend slowly upward towards Tikhedhunga. We pass villages like Birethanti and Hile today which are absolutely beautiful and scenic. Overnight stay at a lodge in Tikhedhunga.
We start our third day after breakfast at Tikhedhunga and march towards Ghorepani which is a beautiful ethnic village settlement. Today’s walk is a little more demanding and strenuous than yesterday’s as it is steeper and has many staircases along the way. But the splendid views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Banthanti lead our way with enthusiasm. We pass through green vegetation and beautiful villages like Nangethanti and Banthanti to reach Ghorepani. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Ghorepani.
Today, our fourth day of trekking is the most important and memorable one as we hike up to Poonhill from Ghorepani with the hope of catching spectacular sunrise views on Himalayan ranges. We slowly ascend up towards Poonhill after our breakfast and it is nearly a one hour hike. The astonishing and eye-pleasing view of nearly 30 mountains seen from Poonhill hill station is something unexplainable and inexpressible with mere words. Take time to relax and experience the best sunrise of your life striking brightly on the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range and Machhapuchhre. Then we will trek all the way down to Tadapani village situated in between rhododendron forest. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Tadapani
We leave Tadapani after our breakfast and follow the trails that lead us to the beautiful and famous village of the Annapurna region called Ghandruk. Ghandruk is full of picturesque traditional houses and friendly, hospitable Gurung ethnic people ready to make you feel at home. We walk for nearly 5 hours from Tadapani looking at the mesmerizing views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, terraced fields and landscapes until we reach Ghandruk village. Overnight stay at a homestay in Ghandruk.
Optional: You can trek to Jhinu Hot Spring from Tadapani, stay at Jhinu Danda and then trek to Ghandruk the next day. Jhinu Hot Spring is a famous attraction in the Annapurna region as it has a natural hot spring and only takes about 30 minutes to reach from Jhinu Danda. It is situated on the banks of the Modi Khola and it’s natural hot bath definitely helps in relieving pain and tiredness of the long trek.
Our day six starts with an exquisite traditional breakfast at Ghandruk village. We spend some time gazing at the beautiful surroundings, mountain backdrop and traditional houses and then bid farewell to get back on the trail one last time. Today we hike up to Nayapul from Ghandruk and then drive back to Pokhara. Spend your evening at Pokhara according to your wish. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
After having breakfast at our hotel in Pokhara, we drive back to Kathmandu valley which normally takes around 6-7 hours but the way is scenic enough to make you forget about the long distance. After arriving at Kathmandu, our staff will then escort you to your hotel. You are free to explore the surroundings and environment after you arrive in the evening.
