During this trek, along with Mount Everest (8,848.86m), one can also get the mesmerizing view of fourth & fifth highest peak i.e. Mt.Lhotse (8,516 m) & Mt.Makalu (8,481 m) from Kala Patthar (5,643 m) which is the highest viewpoint of Everest Base Camp trek. This is a medium length trek, a perfect trek designed for anyone who loves outdoor adventure & is physically fit. We’ll start our trek with an early morning flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla on a small aircraft which takes around 30 min. During the flight we can get the panoramic view of several Himalayan ranges. After landing, we’ll start our trek from Lukla towards Phakding. We follow the trail alongside the Dudhkoshi river & pass through village Ghat before reaching Phakding. Overnight stay in phakding.
We’ll be starting our trek early this morning to Namche Bazaar which is known to be the gateway to Everest. Today’s trail follows the bank of dushkoshi river, pine forest & we cross monju before approaching the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. We then ascend upward & cross high Tenzing-Hillary Suspension bridge from where we get the very first glimpse of Everest. Continuing our trek, we ascend through pine forests that lead us to a town named Namche bazaar which is the biggest & most popular town in Everest region. We stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
This is a day to get much-needed rest & get acclimatized to the altitude as we’ll be trekking to a higher altitude in the coming days. Today, we’ll visit the Everest View Hotel which is the Hotel situated in the HIghest altitude in World. You can have breakfast or just tea here while enjoying the view of Everest along with several other mountains. We also get to explore Namche bazaar which has every facility you need like; cafes, restaurants, ATMs & colorful markets, etc. Another attraction you can visit today is the Sherpa museum to learn about Sherpa culture & the history of mountaineering. This will be our second night in Namche Bazaar.
Today, we ascended towards Tengboche which is at an elevation of 3860m. We’ll cross several suspension bridges & rhododendron forests on the way & also have the first glimpse of Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Thamserku & Mount Lhotse etc. Before reaching Tengboche where we’ll be spending the night, we visit a famous Buddhist monastery known to be the biggest monastery in the Everest region. Overnight stay in Tengboche.
We start our trek today after having breakfast & following the trail through rhododendron forest. We then cross a bridge over imja river & follow the uppertrail to Pangboche village. Passing through fields surrounded by stone walls protecting various crops like; barley, buckwheat & potatoes, we finally reach our destination of the day, Dingboche. Overnight stay in Dingboche.
This will be our second rest or acclimatization day of the trek. Today we’ll be hiking up the ridge above Dingboche to let our body adjust in the higher elevation & enjoy the scenery. You can also roam around the village as there are many things to explore in Dingboche. Overnight stay in Dingboche.
Today is the day where we get to see a clear view of Mount Amadablam, Mount Khumbutse & Mount Pumori etc. We’ll begin our trek from Dingboche towards Lobuche crossing Pheriche village & several tea houses. After a while we reach a ridge which have several memorial statues of climbers who lost their lives during the expedition of Everest. As we ascend forward, we reach our destination for the day, Lobuche where we stay overnight.
Here, a big day has finally arrived. Today, we trek to Everest base camp as we walk along the Khumbu glacier. Before reaching Everest Base camp, we cross Gorak Shep where we’ll be coming back to spend the night later. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is stunning from where we can also enjoy breathtaking views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. After spending some time in nature & enjoying the view of majestic mountains, we return back to Gorak shep. Overnight in Gorak shep.
In order to not miss the first sunrise from the top of the world, today we start our journey early in the morning before dawn. As we ascend upto Kala patthar, this will be the most difficult yet rewarding day of our trek. On our way there we can see breathtaking views of Mountains like; Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse etc. And then, from kala patthar we can have a majestic view of top of the world Mount Everest surrounded by other various peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more. After spending some time at kala patthar we will head back to Gorak shep & descend down to Pheriche to get a good rest. Overnight in Pherice.
Today we descend down to back Tengboche following the trail along the hillside & through rhododendron forests. We cross Dingboche village before reaching Tengboche. As we rapidly descend through pine forest, we get to enjoy the view of various mountains again. After a few hours of descending, we finally reach Tengboche & spend a night there.
We’ll be getting down to the gateway of Everest, Namche bazaar today. Following our way through dense forests & hillside along with some pine forest, we reach Namche bazaar & have a good rest there. Enjoy the city-like facilities in this town situated at an elevation of 3440m for one last time before descending down. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
We’ve finally come to the final day of our trekking, today we descend down to Lukla which was the starting point of our trek. It is much easier to walk today as it is downhill & at lower elevation. Overnight stay in Lukla.
We’ll be catching an early morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla today. You can get the panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas during this flight for the final time. After reaching Kathmandu, you can explore the city for the rest of the day or just take a good long rest. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
