Chandragiri hill, located in the southwest of Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2540 m is a destination that offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Manaslu range, Langtang range, Ganesh Himal range & many other small mountains. Just an hour’s drive away from the main city, this place is a perfect destination for a quick getaway for people with less time in their hands. Take a cable car ride of around 10-15 min to reach the top of the hill & visit the Valeshwor Mahadev Temple which is believed to be built on the site where Sati Devi’s forehead (Bhala) fell. You can get a spectacular view of the Kathmandu valley sided by some lush green hills from the top of the hill. You’ll be picked up in the morning in a private vehicle from your hotel and then we’ll begin our ride to Chandragiri from Kathmandu that takes around an hour. After reaching Chandragiri, we’ll head to the cable car station and start our ride to the top of the hill which takes around 10-15 min. During our cable car ride, we can get breathtaking views of lush green hills & small valleys below making our ride more fun and exciting. When we get to the top we will be rewarded with striking views of snow-capped mountain ranges like; Langtang, Ganesh Himal & Manaslu, etc along with the view of the entire Kathmandu valley. We’ll visit the Valeshwor Mahadev temple once we reach the top of the hill that holds great importance in the Hindu religion. For the rest of the day, we can enjoy our time exploring the area as there are many things here like; children’s park, photo booths & restaurants as well. We’ll take a cable car ride back after spending our day here & from there drive back to Kathmandu. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel after our arrival in Kathmandu.
Optional: Instead of the cable car ride, we can also hike while ascending or descending if you want. We can spend the night in Chandragiri hill & get back to Kathmandu the next day if you want to extend the trip to 2-3 days.
