We’ll begin our trek with an early morning flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla on a small aircraft which takes around 30 min. During the flight we can get the panoramic view of several Himalayan ranges. After landing, we’ll start our trek from Lukla towards Phakding. We follow the trail alongside the Dudhkoshi river & pass through village Ghat before reaching Phakding. Overnight stay in Phakding.
We’ll be starting our trek early this morning to Namche Bazaar which is known to be the gateway to Everest. Today’s trail follows the bank of dushkoshi river, pine forest & we cross monju before approaching the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. We then ascend upward & cross high Tenzing-Hillary Suspension bridge from where we get the very first glimpse of Everest. Continuing our trek, we ascend through pine forests that lead us to a town named Namche bazaar which is the biggest & most popular town in Everest region. We’ll stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
This is a day to get much-needed rest & get acclimatized to the altitude as we’ll be trekking to a higher altitude in the coming days. Today, we’ll visit the Everest View Hotel which is the Hotel situated in the Highest altitude in the World. You can have breakfast or just tea here while enjoying the view of Everest along with several other mountains. We also get to explore Namche bazaar which has every facility you need like; cafes, restaurants, ATMs & colorful markets, etc. Another attraction you can visit today is the Sherpa museum to learn about Sherpa culture & the history of mountaineering. This will be our second night in Namche Bazaar.
Early in the morning, we will leave Namche and head towards Phortse through Khumjung. Following the trail along Dudh Koshi river with a Scenic view of Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Amadablam, the trekking trail passes through several rhododendron forests where different species of flora and fauna can be seen. Moving ahead, a suspension bridge across the Dudhkoshi river opens up the way to Phortse & after walking for around 4-5 hrs, we'll reach Phortse where we'll be spending the night. Overnight stay at Phortse.
Today we'll head toward Pangboche, where the oldest monastery of the Everest region lies with its historical importance. We can get amazing views of Mount Ama Dablam and several other peaks on our trail today. Passing through rhododendron forests & several Sherpa settlements along with Tengboche on the way, we reach Pangboche for our overnight stay. Overnight stay at Pangboche.
After having our breakfast early in the morning, we will leave Pangboche and head towards the Ama Dablam Base Camp. It will take about 6 to 7 hours to reach and get back from Amadablam Base Camp. Following the uphill trail crossing the Imja Khola, you might find the trail today a little hard as it's a mostly uphill climb. The higher we get the more beautiful the views become. From the top of the base camp of Mt. Ama Dablam, the views of Pumori and several other peaks can be seen. After spending some time relishing the panoramic views of the Himalayas, we'll descend back to Pangboche. Overnight stay at Pangboche.
Today we'll be descending back to Namche Bazaar following the same route. We can get a view of several mountains like Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Amadablam for one last time on our way down. Passing by rhododendron forests & small sherpa settlements, we'll reach Namche Bazaar after walking for around 5-6 hrs. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Today is the last day of our trek as we'll be trekking back to the starting point of our trek, Lukla. The walk today is mostly downhill which can get equally tiring as uphill. Passing through forests and villages like; Monjo and Phakding while crossing Dudh Koshi River over the suspension and wooden bridge, we will reach Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.
We’ll be catching an early morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla today. You can get the panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas during this flight for the final time. After reaching Kathmandu, you can explore the city for the rest of the day or just take a good long rest. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
