Mohare Danda Trek also known as Community Ridge Trek is an undisturbed trekking destination in the Annapurna region. An alternative to the bustling Poonhill trek, this trek takes you to Mohare hilltop station in the lap of Mountain Annapurna & Dhaulagiri. Similar to most of the Annapurna region trekking, the trek begins from Pokhara & takes you through some ancient traditional villages like Banskharka, Nangi, etc. Composed of community villages with homestay facilities, this trekking trail particularly focuses on sustainable eco-tourism in Nepal which can be a perfect short escape for travel enthusiasts & nature lovers. Also known to be the best viewpoint for sunrise & sunset over shimmering mountains, you get a panoramic view of mountains like Mt. Annapurna South (7219m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (7061m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), etc from Mohare hill station located at an elevation of 3300m. Early morning after our breakfast, we start our 8 days trek to Mohare Danda by driving towards the city of lakes and mountains, Pokhara. It is a comfortable and scenic 6-7 hour drive along with the pleasing views of the countryside including stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas, paddy fields, green terraces and rivers following us. After arriving at Pokhara, we have a free evening ahead of us. Spend your time exploring Pokhara city in the evening and relax for your upcoming trek. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Optional: You can choose to take a 30 min flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead of a drive.
After our breakfast at Pokhara hotel, we take a three and half hour drive to Galeshwor along the banks of Kali Gandaki river. Then, we begin our trek by hiking to Bans Kharka. It is nearly a 4 hour ascend to Bans Kharka today. We cross a suspension bridge over deepest gorge “Kali Gandaki river” and walk through the green forest and reach our destination. Overnight stay at a lodge in Bans Kharka.
Our third day starts with a hot breakfast at Bans Kharkha followed by a trek to Naangi. It takes nearly 6-7 hours for us to reach Naangi from Bans Kharak. We walk slowly and go along beautiful villages, stunning mountains and impressive landscape and vegetation. Today we visit an organic farm school, Magar settlement and Nepali paper making spot. After arriving we rest, relax and prepare ourselves for tomorrow. Overnight stay at a lodge in Naangi.
Today is our most important day as we head towards Mohare Danda, our main destination. We start our day with our breakfast and move slowly and steadily. The trail to Mohare danda passes through beautiful oak forest and rhododendron forest making our path beautiful and picturesque. Divine views of Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Nilgiri, Annapurna south, Hiuchuli and Tukuche peak don’t leave us throughout the trail. We wait for the most amazing sunset while admiring the mountain views in Mohare Danda for quite some time. Then we descend slowly after appreciating and capturing the elegant view. Today we wake early in the morning to view the most stunning and mesmerizing sunrise view over the Himalayas. After munching our breakfast in the warm morning while admiring the views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna south, Hiuchuli, Machhapuchhre, Tukuche peak, we then descend towards Deaurali. Our trail today leads us towards astonishing landscapes, mountain views and lush forests. After many ups and downs we reach Deauralii after crossing the famous Ghorepani village. Overnight stay at a lodge in Deurali.
After a scenic breakfast at beautiful Deaurali village, we make our way towards Ghandruk which is a famous Gurung community homestay. Our trail moves across a group of flatlands, forest, cultivated lands and a suspension bridge over Khumnu Khola before arriving at Ghandruk. This serene village offers us breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli. The teahouses and homestays here are famous for providing warm welcome with sincere Nepalese hospitality. We roam around and spend our evening with these lovely people at Ghandruk. Our day six starts with an exquisite traditional breakfast at Ghandruk village. We spend some time gazing at the beautiful surroundings, mountain backdrop and traditional houses and then bid farewell to get back on track one last time. Today we hike up to Nayapul from Ghandruk through stone paths, picturesque villages and terraced fields then we drive back to Pokhara. Spend your evening at Pokhara according to your wish. Roam around Lakeside, visit pubs, restaurants, enjoy Pokhara’s nightlife and make memories. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Today after our breakfast at Pokhara hotel, we head back to the capital city, Kathmandu. It is a 7-8 hours drive depending upon the traffic conditions. Take a look outside your window and enjoy the view of colorful villages, scenic landscapes, local bazaars and people before arriving at the valley. Enjoy your evening in Kathmandu by strolling and visiting the nearby areas as your wish and make memories and relax. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
