Often listed as one of the best trekking trails of Nepal, the Manaslu circuit trek is a renowned classic trek offering off the beaten path with some remarkable sights. Far less crowded in contrast to some other trekking trails of Nepal, this trek offers wild & remote trekking routes with epic scenery, diverse landscape & ancient culture of Nepal. Starting with a ride from Kathmandu to Sotikhola & following the path along Budhi Gandaki gorge from there on, this is a physically demanding but inwardly pleasant trek. You pass through numerous suspension bridges, giant waterfalls, wild forests with rich biodiversity taking you around the area of the World’s 8th highest mountain Mt. Manaslu (8156m). The highest point you’ll get to during the trek is Larke La above an elevation of 5100m from where you can capture a panoramic view of Mt. Lamjung (6983m), Mt. Manaslu (8156m), Mt. Today is the first day of our trek & we'll be driving to Soti Khola from Kathmandu. During the drive, we can enjoy views of the Nepali farmland along with the mountain scenery. Starting from Kathmandu, we'll head toward Dhading Bensi then to Arughat & finally toward Soti Khola. After a total of 7-8 hours of drive, we'll reach Soti Khola & spend a night there. Overnight stay at Soti Khola.
Today, we'll begin our trek by following the path along Budhi Gandaki River through the dense forest. Moving ahead in the steep uphill, we'll reach Khursane from where the trail weaves its way up and down. After that, we'll continue our trek as we head toward Gurung village of Labubesi and follow the path along the riverbank until we reach the village of Machha Khola where we will spend the night. Overnight stay at Machha Khola.
Today, we'll trek toward Jagat from Machha Khola. We'll trek through the villages of Tatopani, Dovan, Thulo Dunga, and finally reach the village of Jagat at an elevation of 1340m. Passing through several forests, suspension bridges & continuously trekking uphill & downhill alongside the river, we'll reach Jagat village after walking for around 7-8 hours. Overnight stay at Jagat.
After spending the night in Jagat, today the trail takes us to Deng. Starting with a walk-in narrow trail with some ups and downs, we'll reach Khorla Besi. After a few more ascents and descents we come across a small Hot Spring in Tatopani. From there, we'll climb over another hill & cross the Budhi Gandaki on a suspension bridge. Moving forward we'll pass through several other hills & suspension bridges before reaching Deng. Overnight stay at Deng.
From Deng, today we'll be trekking to Namrung. The trail today Passes through several forests and mani walls. We'll also cross the Budi Gandaki river several times today and come across various gompas en route. Moving further following the river through a dense forest & a final steep climb, we'll finally make our way to a small village Namrung. Overnight stay at Namrung.
Continuing from Namrung today we trek toward Samagaon. The trek begins with a slow climb steadily & as we climb forward today we can get the first glimpse ofMt. Manaslu North and Mt. Manaslu. We'll pass through several villages like; Shyo, Lho, Shyala, etc before reaching Sama Village. On the way, we can explore the famous Ribung Gompa & get views of some other mountains like; Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) & Ganesh Himal, etc. After trekking for around 6-7 hours, today’s journey ends in Samagaon. Overnight stay at Samagaon.
Today is the first acclimatization day of our trek. We can spend our day today exploring surroundings such as Birendra Taal, Buddhist monasteries, Samagaon, and also a side trip to Pun Gyen Gompa or Manaslu Base Camp can be done which can take a whole day for a round trip. We can get marvelous views of Mt. Manaslu & several other surrounding mountains today. Overnight stay at Samagaon.
Today we comparatively have a short trek as we head toward Samdo. Starting with a descent to the Budhi Gandaki River & following a bridge over a wide river. It is rather an easy trail today as we pass by several juniper and birch forests & cross wooden bridges. After a pleasant walk of around 4-5 hours, we'll reach a picturesque village of Samdo where we might witness traders coming from the valley carrying Chinese and Tibetan goods. Overnight stay at Samdo.
This is our second rest day set aside for proper acclimatization. Today we can either hike up the valley straight at the back of the Samdo village which takes us to one of the trade passes to Tibet from where amazing views of Mt. Manaslu along with other Himalayan ranges including Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkya Peak can be seen. Or we can take a trip to Gya La situated to the north of Samdo which is a frequently used trading route to Tibet. Overnight stay at Samdo.
Today we'll start our trek after having breakfast steadily & head toward Dharamsala. It is a short hike today starting with a walk down the bank, crossing the wooden bridge over Budi Gandaki. After crossing a few streams we can witness the Larkya Glacier, and soon we'll reach our home for the day, Dharamsala. We'll have plenty of time to rest at Dharamsala today. Overnight stay at Dharamsala.
Today can be considered as the highlight of the trek as we'll be exploring the Larkya La Pass which is the highest point of this trek. Starting with a steady walk from Dharamsala, the first stop point today is Larkya Phedi, from there we make our way to the pass as we cross a glacial moraine and four frozen lakes. It will take around 5 hours for us to reach the pass. We can witness incredible views of Himlung Himal (7,126m), Cheo Himal (6,820m), Gyaji Kung (7,030m), Kang Guru (6,981m), and Annapurna II (7937), etc. After enjoying the view in Larkya La Pass for some time, we'll descend through a steep trail that takes us to Bimthang. It is a challenging walk today as we continue our way to Bimthang. Overnight stay at Bimthang.
After yesterday's tiring walk, today we'll have a short trek to Tal. We'll begin with a climb over a small hill and continue on the stone-paved trail as it passes through several charming villages. Walking further we'll cross the bridge over Dudh Khola and climb up passing through other villages like; Dharapani, Karte, etc. We'll also come across some mani walls before reaching Tal which is located at the foot of a large waterfall. Today, we'll descend to Syange. Following the trail to Chamje village crossing the Marshyangdi Khola we'll walk forward passing terrace fields and villages on hillsides before descending through rhododendron forests to Syange. Overnight stay at Syange.
After having our breakfast in Syange today, we'll make our way to Besisahar from where we'll catch a vehicle to Kathmandu. We'll trek for around 4-5 hours to reach Besisahar & then a drive of around 7-8 hours will take us to Kathmandu. You'll be escorted to your hotel once we reach Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
