Our one-day Nagarkot tour starts with an enjoyable ride to Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is located 15 km from central Kathmandu. Bhaktapur Durbar Square can be considered as a museum of medieval art and architecture because of the sculptures, woodcarvings, colossal pagoda temples and immaculately preserved old architecture till this period. We take time to explore and know about Nyatapola temple, Bhairavnath temple, Dattatraya temple, 55 window Palace, Siddhapokhari pond and other monuments situated inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site. After roaming around the alleys for some time, we bid farewell to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and drive towards Nagarkot which is situated 32 km east of Kathmandu. Nagarkot is considered one of the best scenic spots in the whole Kathmandu valley to view the panoramic mountains along with eye-pleasing sunrise and sunset views from the altitude of 2175m. Nagarkot not only provides amazing views of mountain ranges, but it also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley settlement. We stay at the viewpoint till sunset and capture amazing memories and pictures of the sun hiding behind the giant Himalayan peaks. The whole scene and surroundings actually look beautiful and unbelievable no matter how many times you view them. After the sunset, we drive back to the Kathmandu hotel and in this way, we end our one-day hike to Nagarkot.
