Ghale Gaun is a typical Nepali village situated in the district of Lamjung, approximately 205 km northwest of Kathmandu valley and 125 km northeast of Pokhara. Our village tour to Ghale Gaun starts early in the morning with a scenic and comfortable 7 hours drive to Ghale Gaun via Besisahar. Ghale Gaun is a pristine unspoiled Gurung village at 2100m full of astonishing natural scenery and friendly people. During our drive, we get to observe the spectacular views of villages, snow-capped mountains, flowing rivers and local bazaars throughout the way. We reach Ghale Gaun in the afternoon in our private vehicle. Upon our arrival in Ghale Gaun, we first attend a welcome program organized by the Mother’s group of Ghale Gaun where they respectfully welcome us with Tika and flower garlands. Overnight stay at a homestay in Ghale Guan.
Our second day begins with an early morning short 5-minute walk to the local tower from where outstanding views of the sunrise on mountain giants such as the Manasulu, Annapurna and Lamjung Himal are seen clearly. After enjoying this beautiful panoramic view, we head back to our homestay and enjoy a delicious organic breakfast. Now we begin our Ghale Gaun sightseeing tour and visit nearby village areas like museums, temples, local houses and also take time to explore handicrafts made by local people. Then we begin our 2-3 hour comfortable hike to another Gurung village named Bhujung which is the largest Gurung settlement in Annapurna Conservation Area also known for wild bee hunting. We stop by the Uttarkanya Temple and the tea garden on the way to Bhujung village. Upon arrival, we explore the nearby village area and rest comfortably afterward. Our third day begins with having an organic breakfast in Bhujung homestay while looking at the spectacular village surrounding and sunrise peeking through the Himalayas. After breakfast, we start exploring museums, waterfalls, tea gardens and honey hunting sites of Bhujung village. We return from exploring the area, bid farewell to Bhujung locals then start hiking back to Ghale Gaun. After arriving at Ghale Gaun, we spend the rest of our evening witnessing a cultural show and enjoying the locals experiencing their unique culture and tradition. After early morning breakfast in a Ghale Gaun homestay, we attend our farewell ceremony organized by the Mothers group and bid farewell to everyone respectfully. Then we drive back to Kathmandu valley the same way we came. Our long ride to Kathmandu valley is full of scenic landscapes and local stops. Our village tour to Ghale Gaun ends successfully upon arrival in Kathmandu valley.
